Main spindle

The main spindle is the component of a lathe (CNC) that receives the material bar or profiled bars (round material) and drives them through the turning process. The main spindle, in the form of a hollow shaft, also takes the clamping element (collet). When using a bar loading magazine, also simply called a loading magazine, the material bar is automatically fed by the magazine from behind, through the main spindle, to the lathe.
