Bar loading magazine for multi-spindle lathes
Efficient feed of material bars to multi-spindle systems
FMB also offers solutions for multi-spindle lathes in the form of the rear loader concept of its MT series, which feed material bars efficiently and reliably to the lathe for the machining process. The bars are stored within the loading magazine in various ways, depending on the capacity requirement. After being separated out, the material bars are transferred to the guide channel. This is an open channel as no guidance of the bar is needed. The material bar is then pushed into the spindle of the lathe by a feed system. The staged follow-up of the bars on the spindle in accordance with the required part length is performed by the lathe itself.
This technique is generally suitable for bars with round, hexagonal or quadratic outer contours. The bar materials used are steels, aluminium, brass and thermoplastics or thermosetting plastics.
