Bar change

The stage of the loading magazine process in which the remnants of the material bar are disposed of via the remnant flap into a container and a new material bar is loaded, is known as the bar change. A loading magazine is one of the material flow system components for a CNC lathe. The profiled bar or round material is transferred to the spindle stock with main spindle of the single-spindle lathe via the guide channel, which is usually flushed with oil to ensure a hydrodynamic bearing effect and low vibration. It is then clamped into the collet for machining. The material bars are fed either by means of an optional bar lift, an optional bundle loader, or the usual material storage facility.
