Bar guidance

The main task of a bar loading magazine (loading magazine), in addition to the magazining and automated feed of material bars or profiled bars, is to hold steady the section of a bar that protrudes from the lathe during turning. This is performed by a guide channel, the design of which may vary depending on the type of loading magazine. As an alternative to the guide channel, the bars may be guided by rotating bushing units that hold the material bars. FMB Maschinenbaugesellschaft mbH & Co. KG of Faulbach in Bavaria, specialises in the manufacture of durable loading magazines. A specialist supplier to the machining sector, FMB produces its robust handling systems for both single-spindle and multi-spindle lathes. FMB loading systems are considered leading products in the industry. The commonest type of material, the round material bar, is usually stored in the loading magazine on a lateral material storage device, from where it is transferred to the guide channel. Depending on the model, a bar lift or a bundle loader are available as optional extras. FMB also offers innovative solutions in the field of unload systems – industrial robots with gripper system are marketed under the UNIROBOT brand, and can be supplied as a complete solution including robot cell and safety fence system.
