The robot cell is fitted near the loading door of the machine tool. The angled arrangement of the robot leaves the working space of the machine tool fully accessible.

A welded steel frame forms the basis for all parts fitted to and incorporated in the robot cell. The robot cell is equipped with an all-round protective cladding. The working range of the robot is safeguarded by means of an optical floor scanner.

The 16 segments of the carousel unit are loaded by means of workpiece holders that can be suspended flexibly from the grid. Depending on the size of the workpiece, several workpieces may be positioned in each segment.

The workpieces are placed on the workpiece holders by the operator and then fed to the robot in cycles by the carousel unit.

Workpieces may be loaded and unloaded while the machining process is running. The loading opening is monitored by an optical safety light curtain. Any movement of the carousel unit is safely stopped or braked if the operator reaches into the loading opening.

The robot control unit is built into the frame, so that the whole unit only requires a space of 1200 x 1300 mm.

The operation and programming of all the robot cell functions is via a compact, user-friendly manual programming unit with touch screen.
