Profiled bars

Profiled bars are a bar-shaped semifinished product with a polygonal or profiled cross-section. Material bars of this kind are conveyed to a CNC lathe by means of a loading magazine. The round material is then processed further, for example to make tool parts, in a long-turning or short-turning lathe. Special unload systems are used for removal of the finished articles, such as industrial robots with gripper system. FMB Maschinenbau GmbH, based in the Lower Franconian town of Faulbach am Main, produces both robots of this kind and bar loading magazines. The loading magazine is an essential part of a material flow system in automation technology. Before material bars or profiled bars reach the oil-flushed guide channel (with hydrodynamic bearing effect), they are stored on a material storage system or, depending on size, in a bundle loader attached to the loading magazine. They may also be conveniently conveyed to the material storage system by bar lift. Depending on the type of loading magazine, the profiled bars may be moved forward by a pusher with clamping sleeve or clamping mandrel, or without a clamping device.
