Fixed headstock lathe

A fixed headstock lathe is a CNC lathe that only moves along the Z-axis of the tool carrier for longitudinal turning. In this case the material bar is clamped firmly in place in the collet. In the case of a sliding headstock lathe, the round material or profiled bar is pushed forward through the guide bush by means of the Z-movement of the main spindle. The tool carrier usually remains in a fixed position, as close as possible to the guide bush. A sub-spindle is not necessary here. Long workpieces can be produced with excellent precision. FMB Maschinenbau produced material flow systems, such as the loading magazine, to ensure the material flow to the lathe. A bar loading magazine is an important component in machining. It is used with both single-spindle and multi-spindle lathes.
