Steady

The steady is the guide mechanism of the loading magazine or bar loading magazine for the rotating material bar during transfer to the CNC lathe. A steady guides and centres the material bar either by means of flexible rollers adjusted to the diameter of the bar or by fixed guide jaws. When closed, these form a round opening adjusted to the external diameter of the bar (round material). Before it reaches the steady, the material is pushed forward through the guide channel. The clamping mandrel or clamping sleeve are essential sprung clamping elements at the head end of the pusher (or centering sleeve), which guide the free bar end during rotation and at the end of the process remove any unmachined residual material and dispose of it through the remnant flap

A leading manufacturer of loading magazines (with shifting devices) is FMB Maschinenbau in Lower Franconia, Bavaria. Located not far from Frankfurt am Main, FMB has been producing material flow systems since 1980 that are valued by the machining sector worldwide. Automation technology by FMB represents excellent value for money. FMB also offers intelligent solutions in the field of industrial robots with gripper systems, ideal for use as unload systems. Designed in-house and sold worldwide, the FMB Maschinenbau safety fence system for robot cells is a valuable addition to its broad range of products.
